me against the world

Updated: May 5, 2023

Hey Break Out Nation,

I hope all is well. I know it has been a minute However, it appears this is the season of transitions. This morning I was laying in bed, and I heard the LORD say “Transformation is here be ready to transform emotionally, mentally, spiritually, and physically. I charge you to TRANSform, TRANSFORMER! (Then I saw a picture of the cartoon transformer. )

Well now that I got that out of the way, let’s continue to talk about transitioning our way out of a thing, My last 2 blogs touch on steps that I took to quit drinking alcohol. So I know we have went over types of transitions including meditation, reflection, and today we will go over admitting when you are wrong. Yes, say this with me, “I am wrong in this thought, situation, or circumstance” (you name the thing).

I have to admit that say everyone who told me that I was drinking too much was right. I was wrong, I thought I did not have a problem but yes I did. These are the things I had to look at. I was drinking every day or every weekend (binge drinking) drinking so much in one night that I was hung over the next day sleeping until the middle of the day. Feeling dehydrated, tired, having an unnecessary headache, and puking over the toilet.

For some of us we struggle with sharing when we are wrong or admitting that we have a problem in an area. Wait, do not think that you are clear because you do not struggle with drinking or you think you do not. Each one of us struggle in areas in our lives: (mind- negative thoughts, behaviors-power thrusting, shopping, running away from God, emotionally- anger bitterness, lack of forgiveness, physically-laziness, overweight)

Listen, it’s me against the world when I refuse to admit my wrongs, my addictions, my attitude needs to be changed, my heart needs healing, my words out of my mouth need to be changed. Have you ever thought about why a few people have shared with you they are concerned about_____ or have said you need to change____? When more than 2 people share with you a problem that they see it is most likely something you need to change, whether you want to hear it or not. Usually, we get defensive when we feel someone is correcting us or telling us something needs to be fixed. We usually respond by fighting, freezing, or flight from the people, place or thing we need to face.

Here are some things to think of we all make mistakes. It is okay and change is a process. In order to make a change it requires one to ADMIT change is needed. Be open to hear what others are saying about you when it comes to behaviors, attitudes, and thought processes. Be willing to know that this thing can be defeated with work and renewing of the mind. We can do all things in Christ who strengthens us.

When you ADMIT your mistakes, it assists with being humble, learning from your mistakes, and it shows you have courage, you are strong, it can build trust in relationships, and it can save some relationships as well. Most importantly, you will be able to witness to people and share how you came out of a thing. You will be able to minister to others, so God can get the Glory.

I had to come to terms with that I needed to quit drinking. It required for me to admit that this behavior needed to be changed. Once I did admit to my wrongs, I was able to take steps toward changing the wrong.

Don't copy the behavior and customs of this world, but let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think. Then you will learn to know God's will for you, which is good and pleasing and perfect. Romans 12:2

Training us to renounce ungodliness and worldly passions, and to live self-controlled, upright, and godly lives in the present age, Titus 2:12

Put to death therefore what is earthly in you: sexual immorality, impurity, passion, evil desire, and covetousness, which is idolatry. Colossians 3:5

Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths.Proverbs 3:5-6

Excellent insight on the need to see oneself. Many of God's children may involuntarily do what the world's natural ways say you must do to conform. However, when we become new in Christ, we think and do things differently. Sometimes it takes longer for others but in the end, the children of our Lord and Savior sees the error of their ways as the Lord and that's when transformation begins. Article well done. Thank you, Prophet.
